How to Control Electronics Devices Using MATLAB GUI and ARDUINO [With Tutorial Video]
These days electronics appliances of office and home are remotely controlled. To control these appliances various company uses various automation systems such as GSM controlled, DTMF controlled and so on. In this demo project, we are using Matlab interface (GUI) and controlling the appliances at home or office using automation system called Arduino and MatLab.
In this process, we are using Arduino through serial communication for Matlab interface. For this Arduino is burned with and ARDUINO IO. This allows the Arduino to connect to a computer and also performs the analog and digital input and output from MATLAB.
For this home appliances, the circuit is simple.
- We’re going to create simple MATLAB m-files to communicate to our Arduino board. The MATLAB Support Packages for Arduino Hardware lets us use MATLAB to communicate with our board through USB cable. You can easily install packages through your MATLAB.
- First, start MATLAB and click the Add-Ons drop down menu. In the drop-down menu click Get Hardware Support Packages. It will start the package installer window.
- In Next steps, start MATLAB and install Arduino Hardware Support Packages (if not already installed). Connect your board to the PC and test if it’s working properly with MATLAB.
- Make the circuit by connecting pin 11 to one end of the LED pin. open Matlab GUI Write your m-file and save it. follow videos to know complete steps.
